Eiteljorg Museum Announces New Vice President for Advancement
Museum also appoints new director of marketing and communications

INDIANAPOLIS— The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art announces the appointment of Nataly Lowder to the position of vice president for advancement. Lowder will help execute the Eiteljorg Museum’s strategic plan, shaping and implementing a program that will empower the museum to reach its short- and long-term goals.

“Nataly Lowder’s arrival at the Eiteljorg has come at a perfect time,” says Eiteljorg president and CEO John Vanausdall. “Her experience in major gifts fundraising, capital campaigns and endowment building, coupled with her unbounded enthusiasm for arts and culture will be critical as the Eiteljorg begins a new five-year strategic plan to build its endowment and more deeply engage diverse audiences.”

Lowder comes to the Eiteljorg from the Indiana University School of Medicine where, as development director, she focused on IU’s $2.5B bicentennial campaign. Nataly worked closely with major donors, physicians and researchers to create lasting legacies through current giving and estate planned gifts. She was also a driving force in helping annual fund donors realize that every gift makes a difference regardless of size.

“If it’s a project that will make a difference in the community or a person’s life, I will figure out how to fund it,” states Lowder. “I am passionate about making a difference.” Throughout her career – from Idaho to Virginia to Taiwan R.O.C. to Indiana – that is what she has done.

Born in Newport Beach, California and raised in Indianapolis, Nataly is a graduate of Butler University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Arts Administration. She received a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, where she is also finishing a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Nonprofit Management.

Prior to her time at the IU School of Medicine, Lowder, a professional classical ballet dancer, spent many years in management and fundraising roles in the performing arts community in Indianapolis. She made an impactful difference at the American Cabaret Theater, Butler University’s Jordan Academy of Dance and the Ballet Theatre of Carmel.

“I am truly excited to be back in the arts and at the Eiteljorg Museum where I can blend my entire background to make an impact on the city of Indianapolis, the state of Indiana and the nation,” adds Lowder. “To be an integral part of a nationally recognized arts organization is a dream come true for me.”

New Director of Marketing and Communications

The Eiteljorg Museum also recently appointed Bert Beiswanger to director of marketing and communications.

Beiswanger, a 1993 graduate of the Ball State University School of Journalism, has worked at the Eiteljorg since 2005 and has more than 20 years of marketing communications experience. He has played a vital role managing the Eiteljorg’s brand and elevating awareness of the museum within the Indianapolis, regional and national tourism communities.
