JUNE

Late Night Wednesdays | June 1 – August 3

Summer Under The Sails Music Series
5 – 8 p.m.

Hang out under The Sails and enjoy the sounds of local musicians from 6 - 8 p.m. every Wednesday in June, July and the beginning of August. (rain or shine) Cash bar and snacks available. Then, cool off and explore the Indiana State Museum and Eiteljorg Museum’s indoor offerings, including The Grand Canyon for half price between 5 - 8 p.m. Click here for details on who is performing.

*If it rains, the FREE concert will be moved into Clowes Sculpture Court on the main floor of the museum.

Thursdays | June 2 – July 28

Lunchtime Music on the Canal

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Grab your lunch and relax under The Sails while enjoying the sounds of musicians from 11:30-1:30 p.m. every Thursday in June and July. Check eiteljorg.org for details on who is performing.

On June 3, Assistant Curator of Native American Art, Ashley Holland and Fellowship artist Luzene Hill will talk about Retracing the Trace.

Curator’s Choice Series: Exploring the Hidden Stories Behind Paintings in the Western Galleries
On July 1, James Nottage, Vice President and Chief Curatorial Officer will take you behind the scenes in Back Story: Exploring the hidden stories behind select paintings on view in the Western Galleries.

11 a.m. - Tour The Grand Canyon exhibit with an Eiteljorg curator.
1-3 p.m. - Tobe & Allie perform under The Sails.
2-4 p.m. - Free photo walk along the canal with Roberts Camera.  Go to eiteljorg.org for details on how to register.
All Day - Create your own work of art inspired by the Grand Canyon; catch a film; quiz an Eiteljorg Park Ranger and share your Canyon memories.

Summer Reading Book Discussion with the Indianapolis Public Library

6 - 7 p.m.

Free to public

Curator Scott Shoemaker, Ph.D. and Dana Duffy, Librarian, will lead a discussion about The Miami Indians: A Persistent People, 1654 - 1994 by Stewart Rafert in the Kincannon Family Learning Circle.

Juneteenth
11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Cost: FREE admission

Celebrate Juneteenth at the Eiteljorg Museum with music, performances, demonstrations, food and fun for the entire family. Juneteenth, or Freedom Day, is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in Texas. In honor of Juneteenth, the celebration and museum admission will be free for all.

Indian Market & Festival Preview Party

Enjoy exclusive first-look shopping and a chance to interact with artists and performers in an intimate setting.

For the first time in decades, Indian Market & Festival will take place on museum grounds. The weekend celebration features more than 130 Native American artists, performers and culture-bearers.

WestFest
10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Campfire smoke. Horses. Leather. Music. Cowboys. The sights and sounds of the West will surround visitors at this family festival, featuring a stick horse rodeo, western swing and folk musical performances, western characters like Hopalong Cassidy, chuckwagon food, panning for gold, horses, mustaches and more!

Meet Teresa Webb (Anishinaabe) and hear about Native American cultures through stories and songs, accompanied by flute, drum and rattle.
