Ansel Adams
showcases 75 photographs personally chosen by the late Ansel Adams to represent the best of his life’s work. Referred to as The Museum Set, these images were selected for exhibition throughout the country and are on loan from the collection of The Capital Group Foundation. The exhibition includes many of Adams most famous and best-loved photographs, including architectural studies, portraits and magnificent landscapes.

Mark B. Pohlad will examine many of the works in the Ansel Adams exhibition considering locale, the challenges Adams faced in making them, and their relation to Adams’ biography and to American history.  Pohlad’s descriptions will help viewers fully appreciate these important works by America’s most renowned photographer.

Mark B. Pohlad, teaches the history of photography, American art and modern art at DePaul University and is the dean for the general education program.
