Come say hello to the more than 140 Native American artists and performers at this year's Indian Market & Festival.
This annual event has become one of the iconic cultural events in Indianapolis. The Eiteljorg Museum brings Native artists from across the country to Indianapolis to sell their art. The market and festival includes performances from some of today's premiere Native American performers including storytellers, dancers and singers. Try unique foods including the crowd favorite, Indian tacos. There are activities for the little ones in the Dogbane Family Activity Area.
Admission
Adult admission is only $10 and the gate, $8 for museum members and people 17 years old and younger get in free!
$8 advance adult admission tickets available at the Eiteljorg Museum, by calling 1-800-622-2024 and area Marsh and O'Mailia locations. Please note that there will not be free parking available at the museum this weekend.
Acclaimed actor, artist and activist Michael Horse (Pascua Yaqui/Zuni/Mescalero Apache), returning as emcee, believes that art is proof of the connection of cultures, Mother Earth, each other and to the soul.
Award winning Native American guitarist and flutist Aaron White, guitarist/bassist Gary Rasmussen and drummer Ed Michaels make up Blue Stone Project whose music is a blend of native rhythms mixed with rock based blues.
Richard Van Camp (Dogrib (Tlicho) Dene Nation) is an internationally renowned storyteller and award-winning author whose stories – a mix of poetry, warmth and humor – focus on family, identity and culture.
David Robert Boxley (Tsimshian) is a cultural leader who writes songs in his language and performs worldwide with his dance group, Git-hoan (The People of the Salmon). Boxley is also an award-winning traditional carver who won the Eiteljorg’s Best of Show in 2009.
Living Traditions Dance Troupe featuring Derrick Suwaima Davis,Five time world champion hoop dancer. Comprised of championship dancers who each bring their own values, ideals and expression, Living Traditions comes together to honor the First Nations way, all people, and the lives which we all carry .

Hands-on activities include decorating bracelets and wristbands, creating a pottery tile, making a woven mat with microfiche. The little ones can color a Northwest Coast mask and create rock art.
