Knowing the Plants of Indiana: a Miami Heritage
Dani Tippman knows plants, and she brought her knowledge about the plants of Indiana to visitors of the Eiteljorg Museum for a week in April.  As a Miami, it is Dani’s belief that to really know a plant, you must get to know it throughout the year.

In addition to studying plants, Dani has been devoting time to the preservation of the Miami language.  She is also working on a Miami cookbook.  She is involved in a lifelong study of her Miami culture, and she shares that knowledge through regular presentations across the state and through her work as director of the Whitley County Historical Museum.

Dani returned to the Eiteljorg in early summer of 2008 to help plant our “Three Sisters Garden” of Miami corn, squash, and beans.
