WEDNESDAY NIGHTS THIS SUMMER:
State Museum and Eiteljorg offer activities along the Downtown Canal

Evenings to feature live music, educational activities and more

INDIANAPOLIS — “Hump Day” just got even better. Downtown Indianapolis residents and workers can celebrate the mid-week with evening activities at two of the city’s premiere cultural institutions. Both the Indiana State Museum and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art are offering evening programming along the Downtown Canal, including live music, book discussions, hands-on activities and more.

Indiana State Museum schedule at-a-glance

The Indiana State Museum is offering outdoor only programming June 1 through July 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. The activities, targeting multigenerational museum goers will include games, painting, wacky water experiments and more related to Indiana’s art, science and culture.

June

(1)          Game Night—enjoy hula hoops, Imagination Playground, mastodon puzzles, playing cards, jump ropes and more!

(8)          Science Night—learn about water tension in fun water experiments, see the different ways you can make a bubble and enjoy our summer many water adventures.

(15)        Art Night—create your own masterpiece at a drawing station, leave your mark on our community mural, make-and-take a tissue flower and join us for an INvasion tour of the outdoor sculptures.

Eiteljorg schedule at-a-glance

From June 1 through August 3, the Eiteljorg will remain open until 8 p.m., offering FREE live music, a cash bar and activities under The Sails along the Downtown Canal as well as discounted opportunities to enjoy its galleries, including The Grand Canyon exhibition. Adults entering the museum will pay a discounted price of $6.50.
