Part-time Retail Sales Associate

The Museum Store at the Eiteljorg Museum is accepting resumes for the position of Part-time Retail Sales Associate. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of retail sales experience;  the ability to use a point of sale system, tablet or conduct manual sales;  an appreciation of good customer service and sales;  the ability to be self-motivated; have an interest in the museum’s mission of American Indian and Western art and culture. Job Description:



 JOB TITLE: Retail Sales Associate, Part-time (up to 20 hours/wk.)

 DEPARTMENT: Merchandising

 STATUS: Non-exempt





  •  High School degree plus two years retail sales experience.
  • An interest in and knowledge of American Indian & Western art and culture
  • Ability to operate a point of sale terminal and calculator.
  • Flexibility to work days, weekends and occasional evenings
  • Ability to stand and walk on feet for long periods of time (up to 8 hours); climb a 6 foot ladder and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment and cooperate with co-workers.
  • Must have a professional appearance and wear professional attire.


  1. Provide knowledgeable and professional retail customer service in store and over the phone.
  2. Maintain an attractive, neat and orderly sales area.  Maintain neat and attractive merchandise displays.
  3. Keep current on merchandise, educational information, trends, and techniques of fine art, jewelry, as well as store policies and procedures.
  4. Restock all merchandise and supplies in sales area.
  5. Complete daily sales reports and work logs.  Service special transactions including performing opening and closing procedures.
  6. Assist store manager with duties as assigned.

ADA Requirements
Be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Have the ability to move a large, heavy rolling kiosk (@100 pounds) and other rolling fixtures containing product, with the assistance of another team member.
